One of the more ubiquitous groups in Seattle, the Ganger is, as her name implies, a member of an organized gang. Showing up in the poorer neighborhoods of the city, Gangers run the gamut of organized mafiosos and Yakuza types, to street gang thugs, loosely organized and often answering to a single gang leader. The majority of gangs are local, their territory covering a few blocks, or a single run-down apartment complex. While they vary in creed and makeup, they are usually united by a flair for violence. Gang warfare is brutal in the 2070s and it is not uncommon for a street gang to be involved in massacres of dozens of people. Gangers tend to be young (most either move to leadership roles or are dead by age 30). They come from all races (some gangs are multiracial but the majority are not). They are reliant on salvaged tech to do most of their fighting. Coming from the worst slums of Seattle, they rarely can afford new weapons and are equally skilled at hand-to-hand combat as ranged combat. Most gangers that become Shadowrunners do so out of a desire for money and a way out of their bleak urban life. Lots of gangs employ radical signaling of allegiance, with tattoos, distinctive clothing, hairstyles, even plastic surgery to mark them as unique. Some of the prominent gangs of Seattle include the clown-attired Halloweeners, the armor plated Spikes, and the exceptionally violent Razorheads who patrol the Pullyap Barrens.
